No matter where you look in the franchise industry, you’re seeing fast growth that’s making it an exhilarating space for investing.

New areas continue to emerge -- like food halls, senior services, pet care, childcare, while new technologies promise to cut costs, improve margins, and attract new customers. But some investors worry that the franchise business model is becoming a “bubble.” For proof, they point to how the number of restaurant chains has been growing at a rate double the rate of population growth!  And they foresee the possibility of an economic slowdown that could burst the bubble.

The worriers are focusing on the strength of existing units’ operations. They search for evidence that royalty streams will stay strong. And they look for new technologies like kiosk ordering and streamlined apps that keep “need it now” customers engaged.

Register now  to join over 20 experts in a discussion of how technology improvements and operational savvy can make every unit of your franchise company operate at maximum efficiency at The Capital Roundtable’s annual conference on “Private Equity Investing in Franchise Companies,” Thursday, April 19, 2018.

Here Are Three Key Reasons Why You Should Join Us

  1. Learn what technology is essential, right now, for your franchise businesses

  2. Discuss best practices for achieving strong unit-level economics and growth

  3. Find pockets of value, like distressed opportunities and smaller franchises, in a space awash in dry powder

No matter what sector you operate in -- restaurants, gyms, healthcare, pet care, early childhood education --  valuations are high, and show few signs of dropping down. For example, as of last October, valuations had reached 10.4x EBITDA for restaurant franchises and 8x for pet-related franchises, according to the Peakstone Group.

So private equity investors are digging deeper to add value to their portfolios. For example, they’re looking at opportunities to bring overseas franchise companies to the U.S.  Above all, they’re looking for ways to differentiate their companies, whether with improved customer service, convenient locations, cutting-edge technology, or something as basic as clean restrooms!
