& Other Advisors Who Support Them

Regardless of November’s election results, healthcare services in the U.S. will never be the same.

As a result, private equity firms are scrambling to identify who the leading providers will be, and how they can be matched with the right insurers, hospitals, group practices, and other players.

From urgent care centers to nursing schools to rehab clinics, the opportunities for superior returns are plentiful.

Healthcare PE deals are estimated to reach $30 billion in 2013, and you’ll be up to speed on the most thriving areas when you attend The Capital Roundtable’s NEW conference on “Private Equity Investing in Healthcare Services Companies,” in New York City on Thursday, November 15.

Plus you’ll enjoy a highly favorable outcome of your own when you sign up for this conference before September 28.

That’s because you’ll qualify for our Early Bird Rate, and enjoy a savings of $400!

In the new model, providers have to deploy technology to become more efficient, and become full-scale sources that take on risk instead of being just points in the solution.  Similarly, payers have to thin their bases, and work only with the best providers to cut costs.

So, investors have to either build up a business so it can be a consolidator of integrated services, or make it a good acquisition candidate for a regional hospital system or other major player wanting to expand their service network (or “accountable healthcare organization.”)  That takes an absolute focus on best of breed service, low readmission rates, and other utilization metrics.

To chair this all-NEW conference on Thursday, November 15, in New York, we’re delighted to welcome Scott Perricelli, partner at LLR Partners in Philadelphia -- a leading middle-market private equity firm with over $1.4 billion under management.

Scott has 12 years of private equity investment and investment banking experience.  He specializes in healthcare and co-leads LLR’s healthcare practice.

Previously, he was an investment banker at William Blair & Co., and a private equity associate at Advanta Partners. He holds a BS in accounting from Bucknell University, and an MBA in finance and entrepreneurship from Northwestern University.

Comprehensive Diagnostics on the Healthcare Services Market.

Along with Scott, we’ll have a team of 20 knowledgeable panelists who are among the leaders in achieving outstanding investment results.  You’ll hear from GPs, portfolio company operating executives, investment bankers, lenders, consultants, and more -- all helping you understand the new rewards -- and pitfalls! -- that are possible from PE healthcare services investing.

You’ll hear how healthcare services companies will be working with employers and other participant groups to stratify care.  Consumers will find themselves having new choices for their out-of-pocket expenses, such as the option of “Cadillac” or “Chevrolet” hospitals and surgeons.  Many PE firms are looking at service companies that help bundle options for payers and consumers.

And we’ll discuss how the second wave of health system technology will have today’s single point-of-care systems able to talk with each other.  Companies that are able to provide analytics for the myriad of data that interoperability will make possible, and manage transitions to joint medical records depositories, are in an excellent position to grow.

In addition, there is anticipated expansion of benefits consulting firms that help companies comply with Affordable Care Act provisions.  These firms specialize in preparing the mandatory filings required by the new law.

But there is one trap for the unwary -- marginal providers will be unable to survive.  With increased utilization comes major price compression -- reimbursement will lower, technology demands will rise, and there will be clear winners and losers.

Just some of the recent middle-market activity within healthcare services includes --

  • LLR Partners’ investment, along with insurance provider WellPoint, in Physicians Immediate Care LLC -- a Midwest chain of independently-owned medical clinics.
  • Platinum Equity’s acquisition of DMS Health Technologies, a provider of diagnostic imaging solutions, from Otter Tail Corp.
  • Audax Group and Frazier Healthcare’s portfolio company Correct Care Solutions acquiring Conmed Healthcare Management, a provider of correctional facility healthcare services.
  • Thompson Street Capital Partners’ acquisition of Receivables Management Partners, a provider for healthcare accounts, from LaSalle Capital Group.
  • GS Capital Partners’ acquisition of Drayer Physical Therapy Institute, a provider of outpatient rehabilitation services, from Linden LLC.
  • Lightyear Capital’s acquisition of the Healthcare Benefit Solutions Group of Fidelity National Information Services.
  • Water Street Healthcare Partners’ acquisition of Breg Inc., the sports medicine business unit of Orthofix International.
  • Veritas Capital’s acquisition of the healthcare unit of Thomson Reuters.

Register now to get the answers to vital questions like these --
