It has gotten harder for private equity investors to find good deals in the aerospace sector thanks to slowing growth in commercial aerospace build rates, years of consolidation, and pressure on the supply chain from the large OEMs.

But despite these challenges, the long-term growth outlook looks sunny. Investors are finding they just need to get a bit more creative in identifying the opportunities.

One beacon of change is how new technologies are shaking things up.  For example, General Electric is making significant investments in next generation manufacturing techniques in its aircraft engine business, e.g., additive manufacturing. New materials and parts -- such as composites and IoT-enabled sensors -- promise to create new cost efficiencies.

Additional growth is expected to be driven by the Trump administration. The president has promised that the country will bolster its missile defenses, cyber capabilities, and manufacturing of military and unmanned aircraft.

And increasingly, aerospace companies are finding opportunities outside their usual markets, especially with spending on the rise in Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Register Now to gain valuable insight as our panelists assess the outlook for investing in the aerospace sector when you attend The Capital Roundtable’s all-day conference on “Private Equity Investment in Aerospace Companies” on Wednesday, September 27, in New York City.
